Cryptocurrency DNS Seeder Service

Real-time peer discovery for independent cryptocurrency networks

Chainetics can deploy and operate a dedicated DNS seeder for your cryptocurrency network: a stable DNS hostname that resolves to a continuously refreshed list of real, reachable peers on the coin's peer-to-peer network.

Instead of maintaining a static list of IP addresses, the seeder actively discovers nodes, tests their availability and publishes suitable peers through ordinary DNS responses. New wallets and nodes can query the hostname during startup and obtain working peers from the live network.

A typical deployment might provide a hostname such as seed.examplecoin.org or dnsseed1.examplecoin.org, delegated to the Chainetics seeder infrastructure.

DNS Seeder Setup

$500

One-time setup of a dedicated node tracker and DNS seeder for one cryptocurrency network.

Request Seeder Setup

How It Works

1. Discover

The node tracker connects to the cryptocurrency network and discovers peers through normal P2P network activity.

2. Test

Candidate peers are checked for reachability and appropriate network behavior before being considered for DNS publication.

3. Track

The active-peer database is continually refreshed as nodes appear, disappear, change address or become unreachable.

4. Publish

The delegated DNS name returns a rotating set of live network addresses that wallets and full nodes can use for peer discovery.

What the $500 Setup Includes

Seeder Deployment

  • Review of the coin's P2P network parameters
  • Seeder software installation and configuration
  • Network magic, ports and protocol settings
  • Initial peer discovery and crawler validation
  • Service supervision and automatic restart
  • Operational logging

DNS Integration

  • Dedicated DNS seeder hostname
  • DNS delegation guidance
  • IPv4 support
  • IPv6 support when supported by the network
  • Live DNS-response testing
  • Verification from external resolvers

Example

If your project delegates seed.examplecoin.org to the seeder infrastructure, a query such as:

dig seed.examplecoin.org A
dig seed.examplecoin.org AAAA

returns addresses selected from peers that the node tracker has recently observed and determined to be suitable for publication.

Managed Seeder Operation

After deployment, Chainetics can operate and maintain the seeder continuously.

Managed Seeder

$75/month

For a single production DNS seeder serving one cryptocurrency network.

  • 24/7 seeder hosting
  • Automatic service restart
  • Basic availability monitoring
  • DNS-answer monitoring
  • Log review when faults occur
  • Routine software/configuration maintenance
  • IPv4 and IPv6 DNS service where applicable

Managed Seeder Plus

$125/month

For projects that want closer operational supervision and network-health visibility.

  • Everything in Managed Seeder
  • Peer-population monitoring
  • DNS response and service-bit checks
  • Periodic network-health review
  • Configuration adjustments
  • Priority troubleshooting
  • Basic status reporting

Redundant Seeders

$225/month

Two independently operated seeders for better resilience and geographic or provider diversity.

  • Two production seeder instances
  • Independent DNS authorities/endpoints
  • Cross-checking of service availability
  • Failure isolation
  • Operational monitoring of both systems
  • Suitable for multiple DNS seed entries in chain parameters

Infrastructure and exceptional engineering

The monthly prices above assume normal resource requirements and a network that can be supported by the existing Chainetics seeder platform.

Unusual protocol changes, source-code modifications, major network migrations, abuse mitigation, exceptionally high DNS traffic or dedicated infrastructure can be quoted separately.

Why a DNS Seeder Matters

No Static Peer List

DNS responses reflect the live network rather than addresses that may have disappeared months or years ago.

Faster Bootstrap

New nodes can obtain several candidate peers immediately during startup without relying on manual configuration.

Network Visibility

Continuous crawling provides useful operational insight into the size and behavior of the reachable P2P network.

Resilience

Multiple independently operated seeders reduce dependence on any single server, operator or hosting location.

What We Need From Your Project

  • Coin/project name and ticker
  • Source-code repository
  • Current daemon or node software version
  • P2P port and network parameters
  • Existing seed nodes or known working peers, if available
  • The DNS hostname you want to use
  • Access to make or coordinate the necessary DNS delegation

Give your network a reliable entry point.

Chainetics can deploy and operate a live DNS seeder that continuously discovers reachable peers and makes them available to new nodes through standard DNS.
