Islamabad hospital offers a discount for Pakcoin payments

Historical retrospective compiled on 24 October 2026. Dated to ProPakistani’s report of 10 March 2017.

Evidence: Contemporary independent reporting.

ProPakistani reported that Abid Hospital in Islamabad was accepting Pakcoin and offering a 20 percent discount to patients paying with the cryptocurrency. The report pointed to the hospital’s own announcement, making this a specific example of a service provider experimenting with cryptocurrency payments. It showed an attempt to connect a locally identified blockchain currency with an everyday expense outside exchanges and mining. Acceptance at one hospital does not establish widespread medical-sector adoption, and the historical report does not confirm that the arrangement remains available today. Its significance is the documented payment experiment in March 2017.
