A volunteer foundation takes over eGulden stewardship

Emerce reported that the newly created Electronic Gulden Foundation was taking over stewardship of eGulden after difficulties with its initial rollout. The report described questions about the original founders’ accounting for premined coins used for development and promotion, attributing the concerns to the foundation’s account of events. The foundation’s own history dates its establishment to 3 July 2014. This transition matters because it separated the continuation of the blockchain community from the original organizers. The spending concerns should be understood as reported allegations and accounting disputes, rather than a judicial finding of wrongdoing.
